Oranges, tangerines, lemons and other citrus fruits can have a much longer life than imaginable. LIFE CITRUSPACK has developed new bioplastics made from renewable, petroleum-free raw materials and reinforced with natural fibres from citrus peel and pulp.
These materials are industrially compostable, avoiding environmental damage. CITRUSPACK has also shown that certain juice-industry waste components can be used as natural ingredients in cosmetics, certified under the COSMOS standard — packaging and moisturising creams that together configure the complete cycle of the circular economy.
